On November 29, 2023, Dr. Marasri Ruengjitchatchawalya from King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) was invited to visit the Algal Bioactives and Bioproducts (ABB) team at Hainan University. Professor Lu Yandu, Associate Professor Xin Yi, and Associate Professor Huang Ruiping warmly met with Professor Marasri Ruengjitchatchawalya and her delegation. Noppathonthan Aowtrakool, a doctoral student under the joint Sino-Thai training program currently visiting ABB, participated in the discussion.
During the discussion, Marasri Ruengjitchatchawalya shared her team's research experience in the industrial breeding of Spirulina and gave a detailed introduction to the bioinformatics tools currently under development, which can accurately predict various high-value peptides in microalgae. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on issues of common interest and reached a consensus on continuous future cooperation. Marasri Ruengjitchatchawalya invited ABB researchers to visit King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi in 2024.
Marasri Ruengjitchatchawalya obtained her Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Osaka University in Japan. Since 1986, she has been deeply engaged in the field of microalgal bioresources, specializing in microalgal molecular biology and the development and application of bioinformatics tools.
