In order to strengthen communication and learning among faculty members and promote the better growth of young teachers, the College held a symposium for young teachers themed "Discussing Development Together, Promoting Growth Together" in Conference Room 218 of the Marine Building on the afternoon of September 8, 2023, on the occasion of the 39th Teachers' Day. The meeting was hosted by Wang Lingui, Secretary of the General Party Branch of the College. Dean Xie Songguang, Vice Dean Luo Jian, Vice Dean Lu Yandu, and more than 30 young teachers attended the symposium.

First, Dean Xie Songguang delivered a speech on behalf of the new leadership team. From the dimensions of the needs of the Hainan Free Trade Port construction and the requirements of university reform, he emphasized the importance of the university's optimization and adjustment of disciplines and majors. At the same time, drawing from his own development experience, he shared with the young teachers how to correctly handle the relationship between teaching, scientific research, and family life, expressing understanding for the various pressures faced by young teachers.

At the symposium, the teachers spoke actively and offered advice and suggestions. Discussions were held on how the College can better support young teachers in applying for the National Natural Science Foundation, how to solve the shortage of physical space, how to integrate large-scale instrument resources to serve teachers' research work, and how to ensure the continuity of courses in terms of major settings and training programs. Directions for future improvement of the College's work were also proposed. During the meeting, Vice Dean Luo Jian and Vice Dean Lu Yandu shared their experiences based on their respective areas of responsibility and their own growth journeys, answering various doubts and questions raised by the teachers. The atmosphere of the meeting was relaxed and pleasant.

Finally, Secretary Wang Lingui of the College General Party Branch, combining his 21-year career, shared the insights gained during his growth process from three different perspectives: as a colleague, a senior teacher, and an elder brother. He encouraged young teachers to integrate their own development into the development of the College, noting that personal growth requires empowerment from the College, and the College will provide infinite possibilities for individuals to realize their value.

Through this teacher symposium, many young teachers expressed that they would embark on the path of teaching and educating people and the journey of exploring unknown scientific research with their love and original intention for education and scientific research. Though the road is long and obstructed, we will arrive if we keep going; if we proceed without stopping, the future is promising.
