SCBE 2022 Cohort Graduate Proposal Defense Concluded Successfully
On the morning of March 30, 2023, SCBE successfully convened the proposal defense for the 2022 cohort of graduate students. Doctoral students Song Chanyuan and Ma Jingxue, Marine Biology master's students Yu Xinjun and Zheng Haifeng, Food Processing and Safety master's student Du Mingting, and Fisheries Development master's student Li Xinyu successfully completed their thesis proposal defenses.
The defense committee members included Researcher Huang Kaiyao from the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Jiang Haibo from Ningbo University, Senior Experimentalist Zhou Xueqing from the Analytical and Testing Center of Hainan University, Professor Liu Pinghuai from the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology of Hainan University, as well as Researcher Xin Yi, Associate Researcher Huang Ruiping, and Professor Lu Yandu from the State Key Laboratory of Marine Resource Utilization in South China Sea/College of Marine Sciences. Researcher Huang Kaiyao served as the chair of the defense committee.
According to the defense agenda, the six students gave systematic presentations on the research background and significance, research content, technical routes, and feasibility analysis of their theses.
After listening attentively to the reports, the defense committee members questioned, exchanged ideas, and offered suggestions on the content of the proposal reports. The respondents answered and supplemented relevant questions. Finally, the committee members discussed and formed the resolution of the defense committee. Researcher Huang Kaiyao, the defense chair, read out the review opinion of the defense committee. The entire defense process was open, transparent, rigorous, and fair. After the evaluation and secret ballot by the defense committee, Song Chanyuan, Ma Jingxue, Yu Xinjun, Zheng Haifeng, Du Mingting, and Li Xinyu, who participated in this defense, successfully passed their proposal report defenses.
