Algal Toxicology Expert Professor Yang Fei from the University of South China Visits SCBE
On April 16, 2023, Professor Yang Fei from the School of Public Health, University of South China, along with his research group members Dr. Long Xizi, Dr. Wu Yanling, and Dr. Yao Xueqiong, were invited to visit SCBE. Researcher Xin Yi accompanied them on a tour of the State Key Laboratory of Marine Resource Utilization in South China Sea. The two sides conducted extensive exchanges on shared research interests and expressed hope for subsequent cooperation in algal metabolic engineering, algal-bacterial symbiosis, and other areas.
Professor Yang Fei is a Young Backbone Teacher of Hunan Province, a recipient of the Hunan Provincial Excellent Youth Fund, a core member of the "Water Environment and Agricultural Product Safety" Key Laboratory of Hunan Province, and a top-notch talent in the discipline at the School of Public Health, University of South China. In the past five years, he has published 40 ESI papers as the first or corresponding author, including 16 in JCR Q1 and 18 in JCR Q2. He has 5 ESI (1%) Highly Cited Papers and 1 paper with an Impact Factor ≥ 10. He also has 1 paper in a Nature Index (NI) journal and 2 ESI (0.1%) Hot Papers. He has presided over 2 National Natural Science Foundation projects and multiple provincial and ministerial-level projects. As the first inventor, he has obtained 2 invention patents and 2 utility model patents. He serves as a member of the Chinese Environmental Mutagen Society, a standing member of the Hunan Provincial Epidemiology Professional Committee, Vice Chairman of the Obesity Prevention and Control Professional Committee of the Hunan Preventive Medicine Association, a first-trial expert for the Preventive Medicine Division of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and an editorial board member of SCI journals such as the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health.
