SCBE Class of 2023 Graduate Thesis Defense Successfully Concluded
On the morning of May 21, 2023, the thesis defenses of three master's students from the research group—Wang Aoqi and Deng Ying, majoring in Marine Biology, and Yang Lin, majoring in Fishery Development—were successfully conducted.
The Defense Committee Chair was Professor Huang Bangqin from Xiamen University. Committee members included Researcher Han Danxiang from the Institute of Hydrobiology, CAS; Researcher Tang Xianming from the Hainan Academy of Ocean and Fisheries Sciences; Professor Wu Xiaoyi, Academic Committee Member of the College of Marine Sciences, Hainan University; and Researcher Xin Yi from the State Key Laboratory of Marine Resource Utilization in South China Sea, Hainan University. Associate Researcher Huang Ruiping from the State Key Laboratory served as the secretary.
The three SCBE members systematically introduced the research background and significance, technical routes, research content, results, and future outlook of their theses, showcasing their research work and achievements during their master's studies.
The defense committee members carefully reviewed the papers, asked questions, exchanged ideas, and offered suggestions regarding the relevant content of the theses.
The respondents answered and supplemented the relevant questions. Finally, the committee members discussed and formed a defense committee resolution, with Chairman Professor Huang Bangqin reading the committee's review opinion. After evaluation and anonymous voting by the defense committee, it was agreed that Wang Aoqi, Deng Ying, and Yang Lin successfully passed their thesis defenses.
