Announcement of Hainan University on Receiving Recommended Exempted Graduate Students for Master's Degree in 2023
Hainan University welcomes outstanding fresh undergraduate graduates from universities across the country to pursue master's degrees at our university through the recommended exemption method. In accordance with the spirit of documents from higher authorities and combined with the actual situation of our university, in order to ensure the orderly and standardized work of receiving recommended exempted students in 2023, the relevant work is announced as follows:
I. Application Conditions
Support the leadership of the Party, be willing to serve socialist modernization, be physically and mentally healthy, have good conduct, and have not received any disciplinary punishment during the school period;
Study diligently, have excellent grades, have strong interest in academic research, and have strong sense of innovation and innovation ability;
The applicant has the qualification for recommended exemption and has obtained recommendation in the "National Information Disclosure and Management Service System for Recommended Excellent Fresh Undergraduate Graduates Exempted from Admission to Postgraduate Studies" (hereinafter referred to as "Recommendation Exemption Service System", website: http://yz.chsi.com.cn/tm);
The undergraduate major and the applied postgraduate major should in principle belong to the same discipline category.
Those who have participated in scientific research, national competitions, and other activities during their undergraduate studies and performed outstandingly (with award certificates or publicly published academic papers) will be given priority consideration.
II. Application Materials for Recommended Exempted Students
Copy of student ID card and ID card (1 copy);
Undergraduate transcript stamped with the official seal of the school's academic affairs department (1 original copy);
Publicly published academic papers (or acceptance letters), scientific research achievements, award certificates, etc. (1 copy);
Other materials that can prove the applicant's ability (1 copy).
Application materials shall be submitted by the candidate to the college where the re-examination major is located before the re-examination. The submission method of corresponding materials (paper or electronic version) is decided by the college.
III. Receiving Majors and Numbers
The majors receiving recommended exempted students in our university in 2023 are all "full-time" study modes. For the majors (fields) and numbers receiving recommended exempted students, please refer to the "Catalog of Majors for Receiving Recommended Exempted Graduate Students for Master's Degree of Hainan University in 2023".
IV. Receiving Work Arrangement
(I) Candidate Application and Re-examination Notification
Applicants must apply for relevant majors of our university within the prescribed time through the Ministry of Education's "National Information Disclosure and Management Service System for Recommended Excellent Fresh Undergraduate Graduates Exempted from Admission to Postgraduate Studies" (hereinafter referred to as "Recommendation Exemption Service System", website: http://yz.chsi.com.cn/tm).
Our university adheres to the principle of "apply first, review first", reviews application information in batches, selects the best, and issues re-examination notifications to eligible candidates through the "Recommendation Exemption Service System".
The opening time of the registration function of the "Recommendation Exemption Service System" is expected to be around September 28 (referring to previous years' time, the prompt has not been updated yet this year). Please pay attention to the system dynamics in advance. The closing time of the "Recommendation Exemption Service System" for each major of our university depends on the registration and re-examination arrangements.

(II) Re-examination
After the preliminary review of the application materials by each college, the applicants who pass the preliminary review will be notified of the time and specific process of the re-examination. Candidates are requested to bring their ID cards and student ID cards during the re-examination for identity verification.
Re-examination Method
Considering the current domestic epidemic prevention and control pressure, in principle, off-campus candidates will be interviewed through remote re-examination, and on-campus candidates can be interviewed through online or offline re-examination. The specific method and corresponding requirements of the re-examination are independently determined by each enrollment college and announced to the candidates.
Re-examination Content
The re-examination content includes three aspects: professional knowledge assessment (20%), comprehensive quality assessment (60%), and English proficiency assessment (20%). Among them, professional knowledge mainly examines the candidate's mastery of the theoretical knowledge and application skills of the discipline and major, the ability to use the learned theories to discover, analyze, and solve problems, as well as the understanding of the development trends of the discipline and major and the potential for development in the professional field. Comprehensive quality examines the candidate's ideological and political quality, moral character, experience in learning, scientific research, social practice, or practical work outside the major, personality and psychological characteristics, integrity status, will quality, etc. English proficiency mainly examines the student's ability to apply the language.
Candidates who have participated in the summer camp activities organized by our university for the 2023 master's degree enrollment this year, participated in the corresponding assessment links, and performed outstandingly, provided that their personal materials and interview process materials are complete and standardized, and recognized by the Graduate School after review, if they declare our university in the "Recommendation Exemption Service System" this year, their summer camp assessment results can be used as a reference for the re-examination results of recommended exempted students. They can also participate in this re-examination of recommended exempted students to officially obtain new results.
(III) Pending Admission
For candidates accepted by our university through re-examination, our university will issue a pending admission notification through the "Recommendation Exemption Service System". After receiving the pending admission notification, candidates must confirm the admission through the "Recommendation Exemption Service System" within the prescribed time, otherwise it will be deemed as giving up. Please pay timely attention to the "Recommendation Exemption Service System" to avoid missing the confirmation time.
V. Information Disclosure and Appeal Channels
The proposed admission list of recommended exempted students will be publicized on the website of the Graduate School of our university (https://ha.hainanu.edu.cn/gs/). If candidates have objections to the publicized list, they can file an appeal to the enrollment college.
VI. Funding and Award Policies
Our university has a relatively complete scholarship and financial aid system. During the school period, students can enjoy other types of scholarships and financial aid according to conditions. Specific scholarship and financial aid policies can be consulted with the college or refer to relevant webpages of Hainan University.
VII. Other Matters
Applicants who have not participated in the re-examination will not be admitted;
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education, recommended exempted students who have been accepted by the school shall not sign up for the master's degree examination enrollment of the year again, otherwise their recommended exemption admission qualification will be cancelled.
If admitted recommended exempted students have any of the following circumstances, their admission qualification will be cancelled.
① Found to have practiced fraud during the application process for recommended exemption;
② Violated school rules and disciplines, received disciplinary punishment from the school, or was held legally responsible;
③ Failed to obtain a bachelor's degree certificate or undergraduate graduation certificate before enrollment.
